WE HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING AND OFFERING

TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR

EXTRACTION AND PROCESSING

OF NON-FERROUS METALS
About us
MINING TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY is a Kazakhstani junior engineering company focused in the field of exploration and mining of solid commercial minerals and metals by in-situ leaching (ISL).

Our Company develops, adapts, designs, and implements in-situ leaching technology for non-ferrous metal mining.

The Company is searching for solutions to develop deposits with poor grade of the target metal and to increase the project profitability.
Our activities
We offer a full cycle of exploration and mining at the deposit, including support during the Feasibility Study development, recruitment, selection of suppliers, equipment development, start-up, and support of the production process.
In-situ leaching (ISL) is an alternative to conventional mining methods
In-situ leaching is a mining method which is widely used in the uranium industry in Kazakhstan. It is also used in other countries for copper and gold mining. The entire mining process occurs underground and involves leaching the ore with a special solution and extracting the pregnant solution containing the target metal to the surface. The pregnant solution is processed at the plant by filtration and precipitation. This does not involve any melting, combustion or heating processes.
Advantages
OF IN-SITU LEACHING OVER CONVENTIONAL MINING METHODS
ISL has proved its efficiency and profitability in mining deposits with poor grade of the target metal, when conventional methods are economically unfeasible due to high CAPEX and OPEX
ISL requires lower CAPEX during the initial construction stage and allows for flexible capacity control by adjusting costs in accordance with production needs
ISL is a more environmentally friendly metal mining method, since there are no open pits, no rock dumps, no tailings storage facilities, and no air pollution
Projects
Gornostayevskoye cobalt-nickel deposit
Our specialists have successfully implemented the in-situ leaching technology in nickel mining with production of a sample in the form of nickel hydroxide.

Today, Mining Technologies Company solely manages the deposit through direct equity interest in Kaznickel (subsoil user) and trust management of another member's participation interest.
Project overview
Gornostayevskoye nickel deposit is a mining project located in the Abay region, ~25 km to the east of Kurchatov and ~110 km to the west of Semey. Gornostayevskoye nickel deposit has the potential for high-margin mining using the in-situ leaching method. The project has the potential to benefit from the sale of Mg, Fe and other by-product metals.
Current project status:
  • Mineral Resource Estimate and Scoping Study are completed (JORC/KazRC)
  • Infrastructure has been developed (roads, power supply, rotational camp)
  • Test mining with an output capacity up to 100 tpa of Ni, leaching and sorption/desorption processes are ongoing
  • Products in the form of nickel hydroxide are obtained
The following main steps of the project implementation:
  • Preparation of Feasibility Study in accordance with the JORC Code of Resource Classification, including environmental research and adaptation to ESG standards. The Agreement for the work was signed with an Australian consulting company.
  • Expert review of the project, including financial and legal audits
  • Independent project evaluation
  • Current mining operation
The current mining plan provides for:
  • Phase 1 - Ni mining up to 5 KTPA and construction of a sulfuric acid plant
  • Stage-by-stage capacity expansion up to 20 KTPAof Ni
Key project indicators*
628 KT of Ni
42 kt of Co
Total resources (JORC)
CAPEX~$103 mln
Output capacity – 5 KTPA
OPEX ~ $5/ kg of Ni
PBP ~ 4 years

* - according to preliminary estimates from MRE and Scoping Study
